The Music of 1953

Usually I am averse to live albums. Recorded concerts rarely match the studio originals. However, when the artists remain true to the spirit of improvisation, concerts can become a transcendent experience. That is why jazz live albums are typically more inspired/inspiring than their rock ‘n’ roll counterparts. 1953 featured two of the greatest live sets in recorded history, which makes the subsequent Top 10 list quite an anomaly.
