Frank Sinatra – Biography
Frank Sinatra was born to Italian immigrants in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1915. School never appealed to him, and so he pursued a career in music, inspired by his idols Gene Austin and, especially, Bing Crosby. In the ‘40s, Sinatra signed with Columbia Records and became the most popular singer in the country. He reimagined pop music as a genre that could appeal to young and old audiences alike.
After Sinatra’s career was seemingly in decline in the early ‘50s, he began a successful residency in Las Vegas and signed with Capitol Records, releasing hit album after hit album that rejuvenated his legacy and cemented his reputation as one of the greatest singers of the 20th century.
Coupled with a lucrative movie career and dashing good looks (he was a teen idol in his early days), there’s never been a pop star as magnetic or elegant as Sinatra. Keep reading below for Frank Sinatra album reviews and accolades.
