Hank Williams – Biography
Born in rural Alabama in 1923, Hank Williams rose from humble beginnings to become the greatest country artist of all time. It’s even more impressive when you consider how relatively small his recorded output is, with a career that lasted from 1947 to 1952 before succumbing to the debilitating effects of alcoholism at the age of 29. Still, his songs and albums of this period are so good that there’s little doubt he was the greatest to ever do it.
Williams released several singles and only two studio albums, and his combination of introspective lyrics, powerful vocals and catchy honky-tonk arrangements remain unsurpassed in country music. Keep reading below for Hank Williams music and album reviews.
