“The Croods” (2013)
I was thoroughly surprised by the amount of humor and heartfelt humanity in “The Croods,” an animated film featuring one of Nicolas Cage’s best latter-day performances.

“Hot Tub Time Machine” is as fun and stupid as its title. The film has several flaws but thankfully doesn’t take itself too seriously.
